Registration help...
Ok since its registration time: I figured we could all share some thoughts on professors and classes to help each other out. So please leave a comment in the comments section (you can leave anonymously and you do not have to register to blogspot so lets leave helpful answers) Comments like “ Evidence with Devitt was a great class” or “ Contracts with Claus fair but hard” That way we all get some real, answers as to profs or classes to take.

- Cali-J ueber alles in der Welt. Some think that I am mean; (I call them friends), in fact I am not that mean. What I am is sarcastic and dry to the sandpaper level. I have friends that I have never said a kind word to their face, but I praise to the ends of the earth to anyone I know and will defend them to the end. That’s just how I roll! My boys know that I am down for them, my girls know that no matter what I will keep them safe (and occasionally flirt with them [If you are a female friend of mine and think I haven’t flirted with you it just means you didn’t notice, it was extremely subtle or…not yet ]). No one is safe from my sarcasm even my own parents; hence of course as a kid I spent a significant amount of time in punishment. I treat people with respect if I think they deserve it – everyone starts off with the same amount of respect from me (a lot). You don’t need to earn my respect; you have to keep my respect.

anyone have any idea how long the paper needs to be?
Claus-dry most of the time, favorite phrase is "the thing", whatever the heck "the thing" is I don't know, wanders from the material at times, assigns a lot of reading.
Brooks-I love the suspenders, and he is truly "scrumptious", at least he is passionate about what he is teaching...but not very rule based...a lot of theory/rationale/etc.
Montoya-Spectacular! She knows her sh*t and expects you to know it too.
Murr-VERY helpful, intelligent, and witty individual...should be an interesting and slightly entertaining/casual class.
Nolan-NO! Run if you see her! You don't learn a thing. She babbles, I think she escaped the crazy bus.
Minan-Nice, kinda makes class interesting, class won't be cake but he is straightforward.
Oster-She doesn't really seem to know what she wants, so you end up confused about what to do. She doesn't really explain anything well but she is pretty nice and usually fair.
Martin-FANTASTIC! Funny, EXTREMELY smart, willing to spend the time explaining or discussing the law or anything else you feel like talking about with him, and overall you learn a lot from him.
Morris-Nice, willing to talk to you about the material, but kinda dry, not straightforward about the material at times.
Wiggins-Open to talking to you after class, nice, interesting, she tries to discuss current events in relation to the material, but overall the course probably won't be easy.
Alexander-Apparently fantastic when it comes to anything Constitutional, but otherwise dry and doesn't really teach anything straightforward, a lot of papers.
Kelly-VERY straightforward, loves talking to his students, fair, and funny.
Murr: Awesome, gender discrimination is great.
Felmeth: Children's Rights and Remedies was one of my favorite classes. This guy is the top of the field.
Montoya: Really knows her stuff. Entertaining.
Huffman: Very knowledgable. Dry sense of humor. Test is very straightforward, for crim pro
Lawyering Skills II: An easy class that is pass/fail
Real Estate Finance w/Rausenbash is not a good class. Boring and slow.
UCC Sales w/Speidel is a good class, but it gets kinda boring too.
Evidence w/Devitt is great... nuff said.
Family law w/Horton is hard to wake up for, but attendance is only half mandatory. Quizes suck, but no final.
crim pro with dripps is better than crim pro with kamisar. i had kamisar and dropped at the last minute to transfer to dripps, and boy am i glad.
speidel is a little boring at times but he's really nice, like your grandpa.
DO NOT take Tax with Snyder. he isn't teaching it next semester anyway, but please, avoid him at all costs.
anyone have info on which PR prof to take?
-Just say NO to Lazerow
-For PR, mixed reviews about McGowan (likes 4 hour exams and goes through things faster than Speedy Gonzalez on crack), but Martin is generally liked, but he can expect a lot.
-For Evidence, can't go wrong either way, both Montoya and Devitt are great
-Take negotiations with either Snyder (A), Wiggins (C), or Hartwell
-Heard Huffman is a great CrimPro professor (and good person to know)
-Horton is knows his shit, but you're not graded on class participation, so no incentive in going (it's also easy to fall asleep)
-If Reed is teaching, it's an easy class
-Ramsey (male) has good intentions, night classes with him can be a bit boring
-Lisa Ramsey, is boring, but has a fair final (not a hard grader)
-Friedman is nice, but hard, he loves detail
-If not a morning person, don't attempt morning classes (you won't go), same goes for night classes who aren't night people
Hey does anyone have any outlines for Int'l Civ Pro with Heiser, Communications Law and Policy, or White Collar Crimes? If so e-mail them to Aaron he would really appreciate it. Put up what you would like and he'll see if he can get it.

I actually have an excel spreadsheet with peeps opinions (dont know whose) on professors from A to Wonnel that I am happy to email to anyone who might need it.

Martin = baller
Kelly = cool cat
Dripps = baller
Zacharias - cool cat
Henning = God awful! Do not take cyberspace with her!
MJ Wiggins = real cool, but don't know how she grades yet.
Horton = nice guy, expects a lot and is very prepared, we'll see how he grades. This is for the adjudication seminar. Which I hear is no longer required for judicial externships.
D Law = very knowledgeable, but young. Fed Cts. might be the hardest class at the school, but you really do need it if you want to work in the federal system.
Schwarzchild = cooky guy, but cool. I like his grading :)
Nolan = I'd rather shoot myself then take her again.
Alspaugh = see Nolan above.
I would avoid Henning at all costs!
Anyone have Lynne Dallas for corporations, or Shue for tax?
Dallas - quiet, slow, not very theoretical
Dripps - awesome, funny, very proficient
Speidel - good professor, but wrote the text book, was on the revision committee for the UCC, enough said
Scharzchild - strange, kooky, which makes boring sunjects somewhat entertaing, at least for a few days
Martin - awesome, funny, knows his sh*t
Lawrence - slow, knowledgable, seems excited about what he is teaching
Any first year class - who cares
First year Professor's:
Claus - awesome, but still don't know anything about K
Montoya - entertaining, intelligent, hippie
Brooks - awesome, but still don't know anything about civ pro (other than judicial activism and level 3 decision making)
Nolan - i'd write something, but she'd find a way to sue me
Stay away from Horton (unless you like lots of work), Fellmeth, David McGowan, Kamisar, both Ramseys, Tom Smith, Dallas, Kelly, Henning, Zacharias, Vargas,
Take any class from Steve Smith, Brooks, Dalton, Siegan, Shue, Legrand, Leibl, Hartwell, Allen Snyder, Player, Wesley, Devitt, Montoya, Berend, Shore, Dessent, Burke, Huffman,
Ramser (Mr.) is the worst teacher on the face of this earth.
Lazerow- you're not allowed to use laptops in the class and he doesn't tend to answer your questions in class
Zacharias- great if you like the socratic method; teaching Con Law this semester and it's a boring class but it's the most interesting because he keeps you on your toes
Henning (adjunct)- boring teacher but extremely straightforward; her hypotheticals in class are exactly what is going to be on her final and she lectures exactly on what is going to be on the final
Kolber- BORING; extremely theoretical and he's also new so he needs to get used to teaching
S. Smith- again, very theoretical; we talk too much about how we feel about certain rulings
T. Smith- highly entertaining though you don't learn all that much in class; great to talk to outside of class if you have questions though
Is UCC Sales a popular class?
It has grown in popularity (UCC Sales)
Henning- I am convinced that she knows the material in her head. I am also convinced that she has no capacity to convey that information from her head to the class. Always seems very confused... Her test is very basic, but you have to learn the material on your own
Murr- great professor. Comes highly recommended.
Lazerow- sign up for his tax class so that I can get into Shue's... No, seriously, he is VERY BORING, take him at your own risk
Tom Smith- very entertaining, that said, he also does a poor job of actually teaching the material, gets sidetracked very easily, and makes the most RIDICULOUSLY hard finals I have seen.
Devitt- I know the Crim Pro is early on Friday, but he is WORTH IT! Trust me, BEST CLASS I have taken at law school.
Steve Smith- gets a bad rap for being sort of boring, but I really like him. Very straight forward, very knowledgable, and one of the most approachable profs in office hours.

Tax with Shue is as good as youre gonna get and trust her when she says she doesn't hide the ball. Her test is straight forward
Schwartzchild is super chill professor with minimal reading and attendance required. Great if you are taking other courses that require a lot of work
M Ramsey - the best, smartest professor ever.
Partnoy - hands down the most sarcastic and enjoyable class I have had. But his test is hard and he requires a lot of reading. But his jokes make up for it.
