Can we give some money to New Orleans please?

Can we start a fund for the people in New Orleans? I am possible the worst person when it comes to organizing something compassion based…but in this case I will bite the bullet and start collecting funds. I would love other school groups to get in on this too. When the Tsunami hit last year it was the in thing to trumpet Tsunami causes etc. Well here we have our own natural disaster of magnificent proportions and I think if anything overseas was worthy of our money this local homeland disaster matches them all. Do not be fooled by the glitz and glamour of bourbon street New Orleans is horridly poor and I think it would be good for all of us to pitch in and send some money en masse from USD law to the Red Cross or some such similar group.

I agree with you. Whatever you need, I'm down to support. I can round up BLSA to help out and convince group that I can think of.

Hey Aaron,
Great idea! When is the last day that people can contribute? Who do we make checks out to?
Also, I was listening to the radio this morning and one of the radio stations is trying to put together a fundraiser called Blankets, Bears, and Bucks. It would consist of collecting blankets, teddy bears (stuffed animals) and money and getting someone to drive a huge truck there with these items. I know that sometimes it is hard for people to donate money, so that could be an alternative to someone that wants to help out. They will be at Ikea at some point this weekend. they did not have details quite yet, but I think it was channel 93.3 so if anyone wants to listen they can obtain more info. If I find out any more info I will also post it here if that is ok with you.

for real it's time to give. Even if it's a little smalls like a pizza worth of money.

About Me

My photo
Cali-J ueber alles in der Welt. Some think that I am mean; (I call them friends), in fact I am not that mean. What I am is sarcastic and dry to the sandpaper level. I have friends that I have never said a kind word to their face, but I praise to the ends of the earth to anyone I know and will defend them to the end. That’s just how I roll! My boys know that I am down for them, my girls know that no matter what I will keep them safe (and occasionally flirt with them [If you are a female friend of mine and think I haven’t flirted with you it just means you didn’t notice, it was extremely subtle or…not yet ]). No one is safe from my sarcasm even my own parents; hence of course as a kid I spent a significant amount of time in punishment. I treat people with respect if I think they deserve it – everyone starts off with the same amount of respect from me (a lot). You don’t need to earn my respect; you have to keep my respect.
